Harry Potter fans now have the chance to enter Pottermore.com early!

There is now been new information released on
how Harry Potter fans can enter the upcoming
Pottermore.com website EARLY!

"Each day for seven days, from 31 July to 6 August,
we will be placing a clue on the Pottermore homepage
to help you find The Magical Quill."

"The Magical Quill detects the birth of a magical child
and writes his or her name down in a large book."

"Every year, Professor McGonagall checks the book and sends owls to the children
who are turning eleven, to inform them that they have a place at Hogwarts.
The lucky few who locate The Magical Quill during the Magical Quill challenge
(which will run from 31 July to 6 August 2011) will have the chance to register
for Pottermore early and gain access to the site before it opens to all in October 2011."

"There will be a new clue every day, and each clue will relate to a different book in the
Harry Potter series. On Day 1 the clue will relate to the first Harry Potter book,
HARRY POTTER and the Sorcerer’s Stone, on Day 2 the clue will relate to
HARRY POTTER and the Chamber of Secrets, and so forth."

Pottermore announcement coming tomorrow!

Sometime tomorrow, Harry Potter fans will have
the chance to enter J.K. Rowling's new HP
website, Pottermore.com!

Little is currently known about what qualifications
potential users will have to pass to have a chance
at entering Pottermore before its official digital
premiere sometime this October.

Come back tomorrow for a full report when the official announcement is made!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 earns over 920 million dollars worldwide!

I am delighted to report that the final HP film,
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,
looks like it will indeed cross at least
1 billion dollars worldwide.

It already has earned $926,534,509 worldwide,
and currently stands as #15 on the  worldwide
most successful films of all-time chart,
and it may soon become one of the top ten
most successful worldwide films worldwide.

In the U.S. it has earned $296,534,509.
Everywhere else, it's earned $630,000,000.

It appears that everyone, even people who haven't followed
Harry Potter before now, want to see it "all end here".

Universal Orlando to host special celebration at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

It has just been announced
hours ago that Universal

10 years of Harry Potter

all the information currently
available on this event.

For Harry Potter fans willing
to pay the very high price,
this is a deal well worth it.

And for those of you waiting
for the right time to make a
trip to the Harry Potter theme
park, now is the time to act!

Box office update: Harry Potter 8 has earned over 678 million dollars worldwide!

I am delighted to say that the final Harry Potter
movie is running strong indeed, with now
well over 678 million dollars worldwide!

The question remains, will it continue to soar,
in terms of money-earning, through this weekend?

As of today, Harry Potter isn't the only notable movie currently in movie theaters.

Starting today, there is a new movie that MAY slow Harry Potter's money-earning.
"Captain America: The First Avenger" has premiered in theaters today,
but we won't see how badly, if at all, Harry Potter is affected by it, until tomorrow.

According to boxofficemojo.com, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
is number 46 on the all-time worldwide box office, with 678,000,000!

On the domestic (U.S.) chart, the final Harry Potter film is number 85 on the all-time chart.

If I was to take a guess at how much Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
will make worldwide, I would say 1.1 billion dollars worldwide.
We'll have to wait to see if that guess is near the actual number.

Pottermore FAQ information revealed!

Will Pottermore be free?
Yes, access to Pottermore will be completely free;
you won’t have to pay to use the site.

The Pottermore Shop will have items in it
that you’ll be able to buy,  but choosing to purchase
something – or not – won't affect your progress through
the story as the Shop sits outside of the
online reading experience.

Will Pottermore be available in multiple languages?
Yes. Initially, Pottermore will be available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish.
We are aiming to introduce more languages in the future – including Japanese and Korean
later this year. You’ll be able to keep track of language availability here on the Insider.

Can you please explain what you mean by 'online reading experience'?
How much will I, as a Pottermore user, be able to affect the story?
After all, hasn't Harry's story already been told?
The best way to think of Pottermore is as an interactive, illustrated companion to the books.
J.K. Rowling wanted to create a site where her stories could live on and where readers
could explore them in a new way. In addition to discovering new material from J.K. Rowling about Harry’s world, you’ll be able to interact with key story moments
(the Sorting Hat sequence, for example) and upload your own comments,
thoughts and artwork for all the characters, objects and places that you come across.

So Pottermore isn't a massively multiplayer online role-playing game like World of Warcraft, or a social network game like Farmville?
No. While there will be some simple games you can play (you'll be able to brew potions,
for example, Pottermore is very much about the books: being able to experience
Harry’s story in a new way and discover all the additional information
that J.K. Rowling has written.

Isn't there a House Cup that we compete for by earning points?
Yes, there is. As you progress through the story you'll also be able to earn house points
– and once you get to the end of the first book you can carry on earning points
to help your house win the House Cup.

Would you say Pottermore is a social network for fans of Harry Potter?
Not really. Pottermore isn’t trying to compete with sites like Facebook or the Harry Potter forums and fan sites that are already out there. Once you’ve signed up to Pottermore
you’ll be able to find and invite your Facebook friends (if you're over thirteen)
and leave comments in your house common room and the Great Hall,
but Pottermore isn't a social networking site where you can share
personal information or chat in forums.

Pottermore will be the exclusive place to buy Harry Potter ebooks and digital audiobooks.
You’ll be able to buy ebooks from the Pottermore Shop, push them to your Google Books library and store them alongside your other Google eBooks.

Google eBooks can be read on more than 80 e-readers.

Final Harry Potter film earns 481 million dollars worldwide!

I'm very happy to say that these are the
latest earnings for the final Harry Potter film:

Domestic: $169,189,427
Foreign: $312,300,000
Worldwide: $481,489,427

This indeed looks promising. If this film keeps earning these large numbers,
then this may be one of the most successful films in movie history!

Expect updated information from the final film's success
over the course of the next few weeks!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 earns $250 million worldwide!

 According to information provided by
Entertainment Weekly's website,
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
is quickly becoming a global phenomenon.

According to a news post by
Entertainment Weekly, Harry Potter and the
Deathly Hallows Part 2  has been blowing away
any competition at the box office.

and it may even be on its way to becoming one of the most
successful films in movie history, having earned $157.5 million so far,
bringing the final Harry Potter film’s global total to $249.6 million.

A word of thanks

Thank you all for your continued support of this blog.
Without such overwhelming support, this blog would have stopped long ago.

It was May 9th, 2009 when this blog first premiered on the web,
and has, since then, steadily built up a large following,
between all you viewers, all my subscribers, and my followers,
it was that support that held the Order of the Phoenix News Network together.

Although I'm sure many Harry Potter fansites and blogs are starting to
close their doors, the Order of the Phoenix News Network isn't among them.

We'll stay open until there isn't any news left, but that won't be soon.

With the whole PotterMore project, the yet unnamed Harry Potter encyclopedia,
and the remaining Harry Potter ultimate edition DVDs, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7,
there'll be enough news stories.

We plan to keep our digital doors open until at least the premiere of PotterMore,
if there is enough news between now and then.

Thank you all for your continued support, and I hope you continue to follow us.

J.K Rowling launches new PotterMore blog!

I am happy to announce that although the
Harry Potter movie franchise has now ended,
great things are on the way from J.K. Rowling.

I am happy to announce that Harry Potter fans
can now visit the new official PotterMore website.

apparent news source for all announcements and news concerning PotterMore.
You can visit it yourself by using this link: http://insider.pottermore.com/ .

We'll keep you posted on all the latest PotterMore news as soon as we find out ourselves.

Hopefully this means that J.K. Rowling intends to use the website as publicity
for her PotterMore project, especially with July 31st only 16 days away.
On July 31st, Harry Potter fans have a chance at entering PotterMore early.

If I am one of those lucky few, then expect several exclusive newstories on the way!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 videogame now in stores!

I am happy to say that the eighth and final Harry Potter
video game, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2,
has been in stores since Tuesday, and here are some of
the reviews posted on amazon.com:

"I absolutely loved this game. It has great graphics,
and the different change of characters for different parts
of the game kept it interesting.

They did however switch the controls on the game
such as there is no spell wheel and no more cloak.
One of the most awesome features of this game is that you can apparate! I love that feature, especially when you're facing off against voldemort at the end.

Buy it. You won't be disappointed. The cut scenes are amazing"

The game's retail price is $49.99, and sounds like a great game for
the hardcore Harry Potter fan, as well as the average action game player.

EXCLUSIVE NEWSTORY: the demo for final Harry Potter videogame has been released!

and protect his friends from ambushing Death Eaters. And the action doesn’t end there."

"Savage werewolf Fenrir Greyback is on the prowl in the school grounds
and you can play as Hermione to try and defeat him."

“Our all-action demo gives you a fantastic chance to preview
the exciting new battles, spells and environments in the new game,”
said Pete Lake, Producer.

helping you move quickly towards cover when under intense fire from the Dark forces.”

J.K. Rowling parts ways with her long-time publishing agency

Just an hour ago, it was announced that Harry Potter author
J.K. Rowling has parted ways with the publishing agency,
the Christopher Little literary agency, a company that has been
involved in the making of all seven Harry Potter books, as well as three
spin-off Harry Potter books, such as The Tales of Beedle the Bard,
Quidditch through the ages, and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

J.K. Rowling had worked with the Christopher Little literary agency
for about fifteen years, since the Christopher Little agency first bought the rights
to the Harry Potter books. They do NOT, however, have the rights to any sort of
digital adaptation to the books, as those rights are still held by J.K. Rowling.

It is believed that the cause of the break-up was J.K. Rowling's announcement
that digital versions of the Harry Potter books would be sold on her upcoming
website, PotterMore.com, which would greatly harm sales of the regular copies
of the book series, which would cause a sudden drop in Harry Potter book sales.

It's sad that this must happen, but to quote a famous song,  Let it be.
